My singing goes back to the 1970′s. I played drums (and sang) in what was known then as a Top 40 band, meaning that we played songs from many genres that were popular at that time.

If you go back that far, I’m sure you know that disco was the most prominent genre of that time along with rock ‘n roll. However, like many other Top 40 bands of that time, we also played Oldies, i.e. 50′s & 60′s, although most 60′s songs were not yet considered to be “oldies” yet. lol

Although I now love country music along with all my past favorites, I quite frankly hated country music back then, with few exceptions. I firmly believe that country music has changed quite a bit since then and as for the “old” country music that I disliked back then, I still do not care for.

I have always been a big fan of the Beatles (the entire British invasion) and that still holds up today.

I now have a son and 2 beautiful daughters and boy… let me tell ya, they all can sing!

My daughters, my wife and myself are members of the Christmas choir at our church, and one of our favorite past times is singing karaoke (if that is one of yours too, don’t hesitate to send me your signature song through the “Contact us” form on this site). I’d love to hear about it and any other songs you love to sing and experiences you’ve had.

I like to use the term “signature” song because I noticed that even people who may not sing as much as I do (if they sing at all), seem to have 1 or 2 favorite songs that they’ll sing whenever a karaoke opportunity presents itself.

My signature song is “Sherry” by the Four Seasons. I’ll bet you wouldn’t have guessed that… would you?

That song was an “Oldie” even in my day! lol

People love that song and when they hear my exceptional falsetto hit those notes, the whole place is looking and smiling at me! Even the younger generation is familiar enough with that song that even they get a big kick out of it.

I also love to sing with others. Although I can hold my own singing lead, I believe my real talent lies in my ability to sing harmonies. I just seem to have knack for finding harmonies and I get excited whenever I’m involved in a song with more then two part harmony. lol
